From whitewater rafting, swimming in waterfalls, hiking mountains, snowmobiling, or a late night bonfire there are lifetimes of fun to be had! We invite you to indulge in the wild beauty of Northern Maine with us at our quaint inn, nestled on a bluff, overlooking the mighty Kennebec River .
SNOWMOBILING
West Forks, Maine is one of the best places in the country to go snowmobiling! The Forks area boasts an extensive trail system; hundreds of miles of groomed trails that connects riders to local restaurants and scenic vistas alike! The Inn provides ideal snowmobile lodging with its direct access to ITS 86 and 87, and can access 89 locally. Stay here, ride anywhere!
WHITEWATER RAFTING
Welcome to Raft City, USA! From the middle of spring through fall, The Forks is buzzing with excited rafters and families looking for some whitewater adventure on Maine’s best rivers! Only a couple minutes down the road from Three Rivers Whitewater, we provide a comfortable and laid back home away from home for your whitewater adventures! We’re so close to the action you can see the rafts float down the river from our back porch as you enjoy a cocktail or order food. Join in on the fun and have the adventure of a lifetime with our family at Three Rivers Whitewater!
HIKING
There are so many beautiful spots near the Inn to go hiking! Take an easy hike to Maine’s tallest waterfall, Moxie Falls, or get your heart pounding with a climb up Mosquito Mountain for some majestic panoramic views you won’t soon forget. Check out our BLOG to see where you should hike next.
TUBING
The most relaxing way down the river! Grab a tube and head right down the hill to the water for a float down a real, natural lazy river. You can even bring an extra tube to hold your cooler for a floating picnic. Pro-tip: order some sandwiches from the Riverside Pub before you go. Tube rentals are available for $25 a tube, and includes a PFD and transportation back to the Inn. Also, keep your eyes out for bald eagles perched on along the river bank.
FISHING
The fishing in Northern Maine attracts anglers from all over the country! You can hire a local fishing guide to learn the best kept tips and tricks of fishing in this area or venture out on your own. Remember, “A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work.”
SCENIC DRIVES
They don’t call US Route 201, Old Canada SCENIC Byway for nothing! You will be treated to stunning views of the Kennebec Valley on your drive to the Inn, as the road winds along the river and sudden vistas sprawl into view. If you’re looking for a scenic fall drive, the foliage in northern Maine is unparalleled.
SITE SEEING
Make sure you pack your camera! There’s grand rivers, natural waterfalls, mountaintop views, abundant wildlife, and endless forests. Northern Maine is one of the most beautiful natural settings in the world, and being in West Forks, Maine we are in the heart of it. It is also only a short drive to Jackman and Greenville for those looking for a day trip out of town.
NIGHTLIFE
What is there to do after the sun goes down? We love having bonfires, right here at the Inn over-looking the river, where you can order food and drinks from our own restaurant & pub. There are also several bars in the area, including Boatman’s Bar & Grill, which is famous for their hollow-log bonfires, live music, karaoke nights and themed disco parties.
