Day 1 – Driving up our local National Scenic Byway , The Old Canada road is an experience in itself. This gorgeous corridor hosts plenty of history , culture and plenty of scenic views! Popular attractions on the way up include Houston Brooke Falls and The Million dollar birdhouse wall, and pull off’s overlooking Wyman Lake.
Check in and head out to stretch those legs on Mosquito Mountain! This short but steep hike takes you way up high and gives an incredible perspective. With views of Moxie Pond, The Kennebec River valley and Appalachian trail, its a stellar spot to take in the fall colors. Now that you’ve worked up an appetite, when you get back to the Inn, have whatever Chef Garrett is running for special, he’s a flavor wizard!
Day 2 – Hit the water – The Forks is known for all the magic it has to offer on the water. Schedule a guided experience with our pals at Three Rivers Whitewater Rafting Maine to go for a Fall Float on the river or to take on one of their waterfall tours. Fall is also one of the very best times to fish. Come try your luck on the Kennebec for some world class Brook and Salmon fishing. Later that evening after a great meal with us, try out the Sauna or enjoy the crackle of a campfire and our dark skies!
Day 3 – Start your day with our famous breakfast on the porch and then hit the trails! Bring your ATV or have us put together a rental for you, we have access to an incredible trail system from our very back yard. A ride over to Rockwood or Jackman and back is a special way to experience our backcountry, its also a great way to go spot moose!!
