White water rafting in Maine is some of the best rafting that can be found anywhere in the United States (or the World!). Choose from three major rivers: The Kennebec, The Dead and The Penobscot. These whitewater rivers are all in pristine wilderness settings and are dam controlled for guaranteed high water releases throughout the rafting season.
The Maine Rafting Season is from mid-April to mid-October. All of these Maine rivers have special trips and dam releases through out the summer.
Three Rivers White Water runs 1, 2, or 3 day trips on the Dead, Kennebec or Penobscot Rivers Daily. We use state of the art equipment and put the most time and money into training professional guide staff of any outfitter in Maine. All of our trips include home made meals that are second to none. But most importantly, our staff is here to make your trip fun. They are exceedingly friendly and take the time to make your trip what you want it to be. No request is too difficult to accomplish. The Kennebec River is renowned for its breathtaking wilderness setting, exhilarating high-volume whitewater with 6 to 8 foot waves and large holes in rapids that live up to their names like Rock Garden, Big Mama, Whitewasher and the power of the infamous Magic Falls. Opportunities abound to watch other rafters try their luck at the rapids. We often stop to explore some of the streams, waterfalls and swimming holes the gorge has to offer.
All our Maine Rafting trips include a snack and drink on the river and a complete homemade meal sure to cure any paddler's appetite followed by a slide and video presentation of your day on the river.
This Kennebec River white water rafting trip has a minimum age of 10 years old. Younger rafters and others interested in a less rigorous trip can join us on the lower section of the river at a reduced rate.

Dead River Rafting - A Great Whitewater Rafting Vacation in Maine
A 16 Mile Trip Class IV+ - The Most Whitewater in the East.
Dead River releases are always considered a special event here at Three Rivers Whitewater and are only run at certain times throughout the season. This 16-mile stretch of rapids get bigger and better as the day goes on and provides the most continuous whitewater the northeast has to offer. Our staff of Registered Maine Guides pride themselves on their knowledge of the many rapids and playspots on the river.
This Dead River Maine Rafting trip includes a hearty river meal as well as a slide and video presentation. Minimum Age: 12 years old. Please arrive no later than 8:30 for all trips.
Penobscot River Whitewater Rafting

The Penobscot River, a tough class V river, has chutes, drops, and large holes that challenge both guide and guest alike in exciting rapids like Exterminator, Cribworks, and the huge Nesowdnehunk Falls. Combine this with the spectacular Ripogenus Gorge, a scrumptious river lunch and great views of Mt. Katahdin, and this Maine Rafting trip will be one you will remember for a lifetime! Due to the difficulty of this river, guests must be 14 years of age and weigh at least 110 pounds. 13 Miles of Pure Adrenaline!
The Penobscot Outpost in Millinocket, Maine
These exciting river trips are run from our New Penobscot Outpost Resort just outside the town of Millinocket. This 26-acre facility is "Home to Serious Fun" and perfectly set up for the Ultimate Class V Experience.
