Hiking the Appalachian Trail
You've heard stories of the famous Appalachian Trail for years. Well, grab your hiking boots, backpack, and other gear and hit the trail yourself!
Maine Hiking Trails, Mountain Biking, River Kayaking & Canoing - Maine Outdoor Adventures
Moxie Falls - 1 mile hike producing spectacular views and includes a stop at a 90-foot waterfall! Grand Falls Horse Shoe Falls - nicknamed the little Niagara of the east. Bird Watching, Moose Watching, Day hikes. The Inn offers a shuttle service to and from the trails (sorry, you're on your own for the hikes!).
Mountain Biking
From leisurely family-orientated trails, to more challenging treks, we're sure you'll find exactly what you're looking for on our numerous wilderness trails. Bring your own bike and set out for the day to explore all that Maine's biking trails have to offer!
Canoeing and Sea Kayaking
Explore Moxie Pond, Indian Pond, Wyman Lake, paddle the quiet section of the Kennebec River, stop at Pierce Pond Stream and hike south on the Appalachian trail for a picnic at Pierce Pond. Rentals & Guide Service available through Inn By The River.
